Picturesque Bay Harbour Island, Florida, has been selected by the International Tea Masters Association to host the ITMA Certified Tea Sommelier Course™ for becoming an ITMA Certified Tea Sommelier™. The association, recognized throughout the world as the Gold Standard in tea education, was founded to provide Mastery Level training, education, and professional certification to individuals desiring to become an ITMA Certified Tea Sommelier™. Its superior faculty and outstanding curriculum are unmatched in the entire tea industry.
The island is separated from the mainland by Biscayne Bay, over which it is connected via the Broad Causeway. On the mainland side, It is bordered by the city of North Miami, while to the east it borders Bal Harbour. It is about 20 minutes driving distance from Miami International Airport.
The training starts with the 2-Day ITMA Comprehensive Tea Sommelier Course™ held on-site at the Riva Bay Harbour on December 9th & 10th, 2015, from 9am to 5pm each day. The 8-Week ITMA Tea Sommelier Tasting Course™ starts the following week involving home study, tasting and evaluating 18 different teas, and periodic online group conference sessions to share experiences and ask questions.
The training will be led by ITMA Certified Tea Master™ Claudia Zárate Vergés, a resident of Dallas, Miami, and Mexico City. With an extensive background in Wine, Tea, and Fine Cuisine, she promises to make this an especially memorable, life changing experience for everyone.
Accommodations are available at Riva Bay Harbour (9400 W. Bay Harbour Dr., Bay Harbour Island, Florida 33154). The 2-Day ITMA Comprehensive Tea Sommelier Course™will be held in a conference room at the property, which accommodates up to 10 registrants. Seating is limited.
The training contains all the educational requirements an individual needs for achieving the association’s prestigious ITMA Certified Tea Sommelier™ designation once the program, blind tea tasting, oral or written dissertation, and final examination are successfully completed ($95 exam fee).
Registrants will experience some of the most exquisite and often rarest loose-leaf teas from around the world. The training will also include: Health Benefits of Tea and Valuable Guest Service Skills.
